Welcome to the Germany Information Website; created by a proud military ex-spouse...lol! All military and civilians moving to, and/or living in Germany, should find the information and photos on this site to be very helpful. This information will hopefully ease your mind about your upcoming move and will keep you going during your tour. This site is geared towards the Kaiserslautern Military community, or the KMC, but will be helpful no matter where in Germany you are moving to. The KMC includes Ramstein AB, Landstuhl, Vogelweh, Sembach, Kapaun, and ROB. Please enjoy your time here, and I hope you find some useful information that will help you on your Germany adventure.

POV Inspection Information

This information was provided by the NCOIC for POV Inspections 8/07

Location of Inspection Stations: there are currently two inspection stations in the KMC, the main one is located at Kapaun behind vehicle registration. The second one is located on Ramstein behind the legal office.

The hours of operation are as follows: Kapaun: 0700 to 1530 M-F and the first Wednesday of every month 0700 to 2200 - closed on family days + holidays - This is the main station

Ramstein: 0700 to 1530 M-F and the first Wednesday of every month 0700 to 2200 - closed on family days, holidays, AND goal days - please check this information before going - this station may be closed permanetly. Please let me know if you find out.

Please have the following ready for your inspection:
  • Form 190 (from the registration office or you will receive it in the mail if it is an annual renewal)
  • CURRENT registration
  • warning triangle
  • first aid kit
PLEASE NOTE - If your car will not fit on the inspectors lift, or over the pit, your car CANNOT be inspected. This is the owners responsibility! Some people have problems with this because they have lowered their vehicle.

** New reg that might interest you - You cannot have any window tint on your front windows, even if the dealer put it there. If the tint is built into the glass, it is fine. If the tint can be taken off, it must be taken off to pass inspection!
